The end of history is here. The all-embracing logic of the capitalist system marks the end of a teleological history. Any type of utopia – whether of real political or artistic nature – seems to be impossible. Yet filmmaker Valenta Rinner contradicts sociologist Fukuyama’s postulate by portraying an anonymous crime without an identifiable motive. Resistance seems to occur even on a meta-level: the camera moves as if free of the constraints of cinematic temporality.
